Formula One in Pictures

by Martin Trenkler
Foreword by
Mark Webber

The first publication of Formula One’s next generation art photographer Martin Trenkler takes a deep look into the unknown world of Formula One. As a motorsport enthusiast himself, Martin wanted to describe the world of paddock and race track in a very accurate variety of themes, like impressions from a Grand Prix weekend (Friday morning till Sunday after the race), portraits the world champion Michael Schumacher, drivers, helmet graphic details, technology and design, teams, bosses, girls, etc.

A 240 pages hard cover book uses American Letter format (215x280 mm) and thick glossy paper. The layout, also done by Martin Trenkler, is precisely prepared so the photographs on facing pages „work“ together and create a special feeling and atmosphere of the previous Formula One World Championship season, which Martin picked as a main background theme. Photographs are supported with quotes that perfectly describe the people, situations and atmosphere of a Grand Prix weekened.

The exclusivity of this publication underlines also limited collector’s edition style with circulation of 1000 copies only, all numbered and personally signed by Martin Trenkler.

All this creates for a first of a kind art book of Formula One. Foreword for this book was done by Mark Webber, BMW.WilliamsF1 star driver. Martin has been in close contact with Mark since the end of 2002 when he finished his first season with team Minardi. It was the same year that Martin has finished his first professional year in Formula One as a freelance photographer. He was only 19 years of age. Till this day he's worked for Formula One Management of Bernie Ecclestone and various magazines and web sites.

Formula One in Pictures is an exclusive collector’s must for all the fans of F1 and high-quality photography.

"Martin Trenkler’s first publication is a great reflection of the 2004 season and the people in the spotlight and behind the scenes. It’s amazing how the really good F1 photographers capture so many different situations, angles and atmospheres and can turn their photos into real pieces of art.  I personally know how hard Martin has worked at his job and how he has grabbed every opportunity given to him. He takes great pride in his approach to his photography and the following pages illustrate how precise he can be.

I hope everyone enjoys the book and takes the time to study the subtle details in every photo.”
